Licorice Extract
This natural additive is extracted and refined from the root of licorice, which is in the same family as the bean.
This product is categorized as a licorice refined produce if the glycyrrhizic acid content is 50% or more and the licorice preparation product if the glycyrrhizic acid content is less than 50%.
Licorice extracts are used in a wide range of food products such as bean pastes, seasoned foods, cookies, and beverages, because of the sweetness (200 times of sugar in case of pure product), refining effects, and salt purification effects of the glycyrrhizic acid.
